Stein Idar Stokke, born tall, dark, angry and enthusiastic one cold autumn day in 1953, is the bands lead vocalist and harmonica player. He has been singing and playing a number of instruments since childhood, but for many years life was mainly work and family. It was in the late 80s that he first, accidentally was pushed into the Romerike music scene. “The Blues overtook me” as a well known song puts it, could easily be applied to Stein, as it was now R&B that was his biggest interest. The harmonica and his voice had become his main instruments and as a member of the rock-, blues- and soul bands Øratadom, From the Hip, Rosenhill Bluesband and a guest period in Fot I Hose, he was now definitely “Back in Business”.
He founded Solid Comfort together with the bands former bass player Ralph Aasen in 1998, because now the boys wanted a band that would play genuine Blues with their own twist! Stein composes and writes the lyrics for many of the band’s songs.
